Join SPEAK and NAMI-Westchester in observance of Suicide Prevention Month and Mental Health Awareness Week for a compelling screening of The Silent War: Asian American Reckonings with Mental Health. Taking place on Thursday, October 1st at 6:00 PM at ArtsWestchester in White Plains, NY, this event aims to foster open dialogue and raise awareness around mental health within the Asian American community. Guests will enjoy complimentary light snacks during the evening, followed by an interactive panel discussion and live Q&A session. Come participate in this vital conversation as we speak up, speak out, and break the silence together.

Young Visionaries Speaker Series: "Finding Your Voice - Youth Advocacy"
Are you a high school or college student interested in advocacy?
Join Young Visionaries and Chief of Staff Heather Mieko Lackey to learn about having a voice in activism, advocacy, and government!
Heather is originally from Rancho Palos Verdes, California and moved to NYC after getting her BFA in Musical Theater from the University Of Michigan. She was a professional musical theater performer until 2010, performing in National Tours, off Broadway and regional theatres across the country in such shows as The King and I, Miss Saigon, Cats, Cinderella, The Buddy Holly Story, and more. In 2016, after Trump was elected, Heather became an activist, joining a new activist group and eventually becoming one of its chairs. Since 2021, she’s been NYS Assemblymember Chris Burdick’s Chief of Staff, working out of the Mount Kisco office.
